Fort Dodge Iowa June 26 The jury found Fred A Grantow of Mason City guilty on both counts of the indictment. He was convicted of making false statements to interfere with U S military and naval forces and to promote the enemy and of obstructing recruiting and enlistment. The jury was out 1 hour 20 minutes Judge Reed granted 10 days for a new trial motion to be filed in July in Dubuque. Bond was increased from 1500 to 5000 while awaiting final disposition of the case.

The facility will hold 80 patients and aims to ease a serious state shortage. He cited 150 drafted men found mildly ill at Camp Dodge and argued 1000 beds would handle the need. the state now has about 350 beds across five institutions.
