Dickinson Says New Farm Bill Is At Least A Start

Jefferson Indiana June 25 Congressman L J Dickinson of the Tenth Town district told Greme county farm bureau picnic visitors that the farm relief bill is the first step toward a national agricultural policy. He urged support for a start that can be built on, discussed potential additions like the equalization fee, and praised the bill’s allocation of 500 million for farm aid. He voiced confidence in a strong farm board under President Hoover to regulate markets and stabilize prices, comparing the future board to a Canadian wheat pool but with government backing. He also noted tariff and reapportionment as key issues connected to the measure.
