Programs begin Friday and Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Cedar River below the Ajullan avenue bridge, with the Saturday night show at 7 p.m.
June 24 Walter Krauser, jailed after fatally stabbing Bernard Grant in the county jail, is held for grand jury on a murder charge by a coroner's jury. The earlier trial for the policeman's death remains set for September 11. John Grant, Bernard’s brother, attempted to strike Krauser during the inquest before guards intervened.
Government records show the freighter Chelda bought by Henry Ford pays wages far above rivals. Mess men on Ford vessels get $52 monthly, ordinary seamen $47.30, and the first engineer and first mate $225, compared with $190 on shipping board ships and $145 on American Steamship Owners' Association vessels.
John Moore a Chicago railway mail clerk with 31 years of service pleaded guilty at arraignment before United States Commissioner S A Plum in Creston Iowa on charges of rifling mail. Bond of 2.00 was posted pending federal grand jury action. Moore was arrested last Sunday by mail inspectors.

Dickinson from Algona visited Waterloo at noon to address Eagle township farmers at their Dan Conry farm picnic and later spoke at La Porte City High School to farmers from three surrounding townships. He outlined four agricultural goals including efficient production with profitable crops, stronger farm organizations for marketing, and federal policy restricting government market involvement with a presidentially appointed national farm commission to oversee agriculture.
Paris, June 24. Mrs. Frederick Havemeyer and Henry Potter Russell, New York society figures from the Harriman circle, filed applications in French courts for divorce. Havemeyer, born Lillie Mi Harriman, is Oliver Harriman’s daughter from a 1908 New York marriage. Russell, Ethel M. Harriman, is J. Borden Harriman’s daughter, wed in Paris on January 28, 1918.
The First National Bank robbery in Shullsburg Wisconsin yielded a cash haul around 350 096 and securities of undetermined value. Early estimates ranged from 9 000 to 15 000. The loot included several payrolls.
In Des Moines on June 24 a group of tramps rescued Charles B. Moore from three robbers who slugged him and dumped him in a creek at Valley Junction. Moore, 60, from Minneapolis, was pulled from the water by the rescuers after hearing his cries. The police credited the tramps with saving his life. Juliette Harum, daughter of Mr and Mrs Hans Warum of Cedar Falls, married Clark Henry of Mt Vernon township at Tittle Stown church near Nashua. Henry will reside in Mt Vernon township. Mrs Henry has served as cashier at the municipal Wet plant for three years.
Aaron Thompson a black man charged with singing was moved to July 1 for hearing with the case continued this afternoon. Walter Diggs and another black man mentioned in the report were also involved in the incident.

Clarinda Iowa June 24 Jesse Frubeck of Northboro Iowa was seriously injured when the automobile he was driving was wrecked on a grade crossing by a passenger train. He was taken to a Shenandoah hospital.
In municipal court the defense argues to quash charges over liquor law violations from a May raid on four drug stores. County Attorney WAL Cook presents the state case while defense counsel closes arguments. Judge Gwynne may rule today on the motion and legality of the raid. John B. Hatimond of Des Moines leads the prosecution.
Chicago June 24 United Press report describes prosecutor and defense clash over murder of Billy McClintock. Attorney William Scott Stewart demanded execution while attacking Dr Charles C Faiman and urging jurors to hang Shepherd if they believe his statements. Gorman argued indirect confessions show guilt as Shepherd displayed nervousness during testimony.
Capt Roald Amundsen the Arctic air explorer will reach Norten Norway on a coal steamer July 4. He intends to write a book covering his voyage nearly to the pole to be published in autumn and then lecture at home and abroad.
In Davenport Park View apartments, Bertha B Buck faced a coroner’s jury after neighbors testified that she threw burning oil at her husband John W Buck during a supper dispute over petty bills. The jury ruled Buck died from burns and recommended holding Mrs Buck for the grand jury.
