Accessory Claim Shifts in Forgery Case of Mildred Winner

Mrs Mildred Winner remains jailed over a forgery charge for failing to post a 500 bond while claiming an accessory helped her. She provided a full account of how the bogus check was filled at the behest of a traveling man who accompanied her downtown but did not enter the bank. Her attorney may use this recital as part of a partial defense. No other accessory has been arrested. Max Winner, her husband, plans to assist if bond is posted. A divorce suit between them is pending trial. The prisoner had fainting spells and a physician was summoned.
