Gravel work to resume on county road network
Grundy Center June reports that preliminary steps are in place to resume graveling the primary road from west of town to the Hardin county line and from Morrison to the Black Hawk county line. The project covers about 18 miles this summer, with bids to be advertised and gravel sourcing decided. The board of supervisors seeks rapid progress, aiming to connect Grundy, Reinbeck, Morrison, Kandiy Center, and Hardin County with a wide gravel network. A separate notice notes farmer Carl Mark, 56, found dead in his field from heart trouble worsened by heat, leaving a family.
