The tenth annual Des Moines Conference convention of the Keystone league of the Christian Endeavor union met at Logan Avenue Evangelical church. More than 150 attendees from fifty societies gathered for sessions marked by enthusiasm and a progressive spirit. Rev. C. H. Stauffacher of Zearing presided and gave the opening address. welcomes were offered by B. M. Fritzsinger and L. Austin, with Rev. G. W. Mulien of Des Moines delivering the response. A social hour followed with refreshments.

Special Rev. Haften left for Dubuque to attend a district German Evangelical meeting and planned a short visit with Edwin near Marion before returning. Vern Hunt traveled from Town City to Crookston, Minnesota after a university stop, and W I Kendall of Cedar Rapids called on business for American Refrigerator Transportation Co. Jake Behr, former La Porte City resident now in California, was in town renewing ties. The German Evangelical church hosted annual children day exercises with special music, followed by M. H. church services. Mrs. Andrew Sutherland of Waterloo arrived for a few days, and Mr. and Mrs. Gingrich hosted Mr. and Mrs. Eshleman from Mt. Jay, Pa. Josephine Miller and sister visited Waterloo and Charles Miller’s home. Mrs. Lewis Bigler of Wadena left after a week with Martha and Margaret McQuilkin, visiting Helen. Mrs. William Bell, previously staying with relatives, prepared to return home.
