Miss Agnes Catherine McSweeney and Mr. Vincent Joseph Rechtfertig wed in Sacred Heart church in Waterloo in a ceremony witnessed by around 150, with Father Daniel Mulcahy officiating. The bride wore embroidery and Irish lace, attended by Helen McSweeney. Edward Sheehan relatives and others from Chicago to Cedar Falls attended. The reception followed at the McSweeney home. the couple plan a wedding journey and will reside in a new Highland house after returning.

Funds Sought for Girls Dormitory at Western College
Rev. Ed. Carter, financial agent and field secretary of Western College and Industrial Institute in Macon Missouri, is in Waterloo to solicit funds for a girls dormitory. The school for colored people was founded 22 years ago, with about 150 students and 233 graduates. It has three buildings and twelve acres, all debt free, and Carter hears testimonials from leading men in Macon and other Missouri cities.

YMCA Swimming Lessons Open to All at Pool
Ninety three residents have taken free swimming lessons at the YMCA under H R Les in the big pool. Most are young men and boys but organizers hope to attract older men. One lesson suffices for most to swim a length of 49 feet, with three free lessons available if needed. Mastery of swimming helps in drowning prevention. Lessons continue through the week as interest grows. W J Buckley, city passenger agent of the Illinois Central at Dubuque, conducted business in town yesterday.

Endeavorers Hold Meeting at Ninth Annual Convention
The Nes Moines conference of the Keystone League of the Christian Endeavor Union begins its ninth annual convention tonight at Logan Avenue Church. Rev. C H Stauffacher leads the opening service at 7 30 with welcome by B M Fritzeinger and response by Mrs J B Meloy. The program runs through tomorrow with devotional sessions, parliamentary law school, league methods, business, a convention sermon by Rev J B Stauffacher, greetings, and lectures by Rev S C Wadding. The convention continues to Sabbath with a ten minute dedicatory service at the new mission site in the west city. Visitors meet at 1 30, streetcar tour departs half an hour later, fare 16 cents.

Mystery man who believed he was a limited express train
Walter Rogers, age about 30, has been reported in Cedar Falls acting as a limited express train. He whistled for imaginary crossings, applied emergency brakes to avoid a pretend collision, and carried sand for wheel traction. He appears to have no fixed residence and has been in multiple insane asylums, recently escaping Independence’s hospital. Dr and Mrs Evens and Dr Fellows were noted traveling to California.

A Waterloo mid-summer social gathering for young people at Chautauqua Park Memorial Hall features a 6:30 picnic supper with an acquaintance bee, 7:00 social stunts, and a 7:20 woodland sing fest.
