Tragedy in Town Jail A Youth Hangs Self in Cell

A 22 year old man, intoxicated, attempted suicide in the city jail on Saturday night. He tied suspenders and a shirt into a noose and swung from his cot but was discovered before harming himself. Guards secured him. he expressed remorse once sober and vowed to fight the liquor habit.

Shippy Burke & company of Waterloo hold the contract for the brick Catholic school at Petersberg Nebraska. Construction is advancing rapidly and expected to be ready for roofing by July 1. The new structure will be a handsome addition to the church property.

Hoffman Sues for 20000 Damages Over Alleged Affair

The filing alleges that starting about 4 years earlier a man named Bourquin pursued the plaintiff's wife, charming her and convincing her of luxury and wealth while denigrating the husband. The couple allegedly eloped on May 15 1911 and have since been absent, with Hoffman seeking $20000 for loss of love and companionship and alleging property concealment to defraud creditors.

Auto overturns injuring driver attempting to seize papers

W A Reed lost control of his car while trying to keep papers from being blown away. The vehicle overturned, and Reed sustained injuries. Rescue crews responded and transported him for medical evaluation. Local authorities investigated the cause of the incident and noted weather conditions contributed to the mishap.
