Forest and Wit Peck two poultrymen west of La Porla City say quality eggs fetch a premium. They ship 18 to 20 cases weekly to Chicago at 9 cents a dozen above the Chicago price for common eggs, expecting a tidy monthly gain. They run about 1,600 laying hens and several thousand chicks with large clean eggs weighing about 25 ounces per dozen and use Hogan test. Their three and four year old White Leghorn hens weigh four to seven pounds each and have produced over 60 percent since March 1.
