In the Oakdale Field Club area on Duck Creek a novel water-go-round dazzled after school crowds. Pliny Quick and Austen lead a distance diving contest using the rotating drum and rope system, with Walter Armstrong and Silver competing, and a dramatic finish as a bee sting spooks the General horse, propelling the finale that crowns Silver the long-distance diver.
