Civil war veterans from Grundy Center and Dike joined Robert Anderson post members in Memorial hall for a full day comradeship reunion and dinner served by Daughters of Union Veterans. Special guest John F. Lynn, Confederate veteran, 80, led the head table as out-of-town Vets from Grun dy Center and Dike were welcomed.

Burglars Reportedly Target Two City Buildings
Police believe the same pair committed two petty burglaries last night. Entry was gained by forcing a rear door and smashing an inner door. The Black Hawk Oil filling station at Fourth Street West and Kingsley Avenue lost two dollars, cigars, and candy bars, while the Waterloo Register works at 110 Rath Street reported a fountain pen and letter openers stolen.

Mrs. Mary A. Girsch of 53 Mulberry Street attended the commencement at Columbia College in Dubuque where her son Howard Girsch was among 39 candidates for B A degrees. Honors were conferred by Bishop Edmond Heelan. Exercises were in the college gymnasium decorated in purple and gold. Girsch will stay in Dubuque through the weekend to help in the choir. Arch bishop J J Keane will ordain seven to the priesthood Saturday night. Garden cutworms do their destructive work at night and on cloudy days.

Old Medical School Alumni Reunion in Keokuk
Alumni of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, once thriving in Keokuk, gathered for a reunion. Established in 1864, it later joined Drake Medical School and then the medical college at Iowa University. It marked the first return in many years, with two 1864 graduates still living.
