Attorneys from Charles City and a priest traveled to Waterloo to seek district court help to have Black Hawk County take charge and send him to a state institution for drug-curing. The doctor, once a bright graduate with top honors, had an earlier interne and successful practice before closing his office after treating a young man for drug habit. the patient died and a coroner’s jury acquitted him.
Dr James M Munyon the patent medicine man has filed for divorce from his wife Pauline Louise Neff Munyon known as Pauline Neff on stage. Court papers in their cafe were impounded concealing grounds for the suit. The Munyon marriage followed her earlier divorce from a prior marriage when she was 16. He was about 66 at the time of their union and she 24.
