German born Mrs A J Schmolt dies after long illness
After years of ill health Mrs. A J Schmolt aged 67 died at 4 10 pm at 629 Ninth street west Waterloo Iowa from a cerebral hemorrhage suffered Monday She was born Elizabeth Grossholz in Baden Germany Sept 17 1877 and came to Charles City at six She married A L Schmolt on June 18 1902 and leaves a daughter Dorothy plus three sisters and one brother Burial will be in Charles City with services at the home and a 10 am Illinois Central departure to lay her beside her parents

Sleepwalking traveler undresses in depot scene
In a Union Station waiting room a northbound traveler slept through disrobing and awoke to finish dressing just as his train arrived. Fellow passengers were shocked then amused by the midnights show as the man preserved his dignity and hurried to board with clothes in hand.
