Riverside Park New Playground Gains Public Spirit
In Cedar Falls a neglected strip between the mill race and river near the Illinois Central bridge has been cleaned up. Trees trimmed, underbrush removed and grass cut create a pleasant scene now named Riverside Park. A sign keeps out wheels and the mill company along with McCall and McHugh of the broom factory are praised for initiating the improvements. The Courier notes the public-spirited effort improves an unattractive area and offers fine views of the dam and park. Also announced are Children’s Day exercises at First Congregational Church in Cedar Falls next Sunday morning with programs by younger Sunday school children and a brief address by Hon. Thos. C.
