Real Estate Transfer In Persia Described By Missionary
Paul B. Shedd, a Presbyterian missionary in Resht, Persia, explains a local real estate practice in a letter. The process starts with a 90 year lease for 500 tomans, a sale for 600 tomans, and a final 100 toman payment to waive claims, all tied to a church purchase for missionaries. The priest acts as notary and lawyer, with traditional rituals observed during signing.
