George G Davin in charge of the Black Hawk filling station at the union depot discovered he was heir to seven thousand dollars of a soldier son’s war insurance after the beneficiary died. Merle Davis had carried ten thousand dollars and his mother, the original beneficiary, died April 29, leaving the funds to revert to the soldier’s estate under state inheritance laws.
