Family Reunion Tegtmeier descendants gather near Readlyn
Denver Illinois July 27 The Tegtmeier family reunion near Rommel bridge east of Readlyn drew many relatives from across Iowa. Immigrants Christ Tegtmeier and wife and several children traced roots to Germany arriving in 1867 and settling in Cook then Bremer counties. A long list of participants from Harmening to Nuss attended with dinners, ice cream, games, and social mingling. Other notes include medical, travel, and birthday references plus a note on a upcoming Mission Society entry and a local Ladies Aid meeting.

Oelwein Iowa July 27 contracts for resurfacing 66 908 yards of paving on city streets were awarded totaling 58 255 96 Old composition pavement will be removed and new paving laid over the concrete. Ford Paving Company Cedar Rapids received the largest contract for 60 000 yards of resurfacing on North and South Frederick avenues and East and West Charles Street at 1 874 10 per square yard totaling 45 480 39. O P Herrick Des Moines will resurface side streets 6 908 yards at 1 85 per square yard totaling 12 775 57. Work to be finished by November 1.

Grundy Center, In July 27 Dave Kirkpatrick of Grundy Center was elected president of the Grundy County Rural Mail Carriers association. John Greenfield and family will move from Emden Germany to Iowa where he inherits hundreds of acres from the late Mrs Dieckoff.
