i CENT RATE FOR AIRMAIL AUGUST CHANGES
Effective Wednesday August 1 air mail postage rises to 5 cents for the first ounce and 19 cents for each additional ounce, weight limit 50 pounds and size limit 64 inches. All air mail can be registered insured sent C D or special delivery. Postmaster Ray C. Eggert says routes and schedules will improve for Waterloo residents and business. Mails must be in main office by 12 30 p m for fastest delivery. New York mail has same day service with Chicago connection. A detailed schedule lists connections from Cedar Rapids to Chicago Detroit Toledo Cleveland New York and farther west and south.
