Iowa Interurban Railroads Ready to Quit

Officials cite rising auto production and fleet growth, with line from Des Moines to Colfax and Perry losing 46 and 32 percent respectively in the first half of this year. Competition from Des Moines to Newton via Colfax and limited passenger counts between Clear Lake and Mason City are noted.
