Supreme Court Reverses McCaskill Manslaughter Conviction
The Supreme Court remanded the Jefferson T. McCaskill case for a new trial citing errors in jury instructions on self defense and intent. It notes witness credibility disputes but holds evidence could support a verdict, and faults the trial court's handling of unintentional shooting and reputation evidence. The judgment is reversed and remanded for retrial next September.
