Youth killers of aged Zwingle woman jailed for life
In Dubuque Iowa on January 20 two youths Leonard Cota 18 Altoona Wisconsin and Howard Kramer 19 Malta Montana were sentenced to life with hard labor for first degree murder in the Zwingle Zwingle home slaying of Elizabeth McKitrigg a 73 year old recluse. They had stolen a $43000 loot and fled. The judge cited a jury would have imposed the same punishment as hanging was optional under Iowa law. The Cota family still lives in the Zwingle dwelling where the tragedy occurred.
