Cattle on Feed in Iowa Rise as 1929 Started
Des Moines Jan 19 Cattle feeders in Iowa report shell feed lots on Jan 1 1929 held more cattle for market than a year earlier. If all cattle on feed are marketed by March end the rise could equal about 432000 head, says Weslle M. Carl federal agricultural statistician. Feeder movement to markets shows larger January to March shipments to Chicago and overall higher prices, with state by state variations and expectations of earlier marketing due to better feed quality and market uncertainty.
