Clemenceau the Tiger in His Lair in 1916
A personal reminiscence of meeting Georges Clemenceau, the French premier, in Paris during Verdun's opening days. The author depicts Clemenceau as energetic, fearless, and sharply critical of allies’ missteps, while praising his unyielding resolve to lead France to victory and demand accountability in war policy.
