When Did Man Come A Keith lecture in London on human antiquity
Prof A Keith discussed competing views on when man originated. One group suggests a Pleis tocene origin about 400 000 years ago while another posits a Tertiary origin around 3 000 000 years BCE. He argues multiple human forms existed in the distant past and most went extinct. He estimates modern human traits arose in late Tertiary or early Pliocene around 1 500 000 years ago.
