The Book of Job lecture analysis by Dr Stevenson
Dr J. G. Stevenson presented a thorough lecture before the Twin City Ministerial Association at Waterloo Cedar Falls on The Book of Job. He argued the poem’s prose frame, the three friends flawed dogma equating prosperity with piety, and Elihu’s later view, urging acceptance of divine wisdom beyond human grasp. Job’s patience, God’s whirlwind reply, and the book’s lasting religious value are explored with criticism and modern insights.
