College Contributions for War Prison Relief
Mt Vernon Jan. The official statement of Inwa's contribution to the campaign of the national Y M C A for prison relief has just been made public following the closer the soliciting on Dec 20 and comprises a grand total of $20,920.55. Of the colleges of the state Cornell takes first in gifts per capita. Of subscriptions at a school Ames heads the Met with $4,000, with Cornell taking second with $2,525. State Teachers' college giving that 10 dollars less than Cornell pushed the Methodists closely for second place, Iowa university gave $1,286, Grinnell $31,500, and Coe 1,500. The others in the order of their contribution are Penn, Dubuque, Morning side, Upper Iowa, Persons, Drake, Des Moines, Highland Park, Ellsworth, Buena Vista, Western Union, Central, Epworth, Leander Clark, and Iowa Wesleyan.

R A Maxfeid traveling representative for Tone Brothers spice dealers of Des Moines was killed at a grade crossing in Council Bluffs while in an automobile. He was crossing the Northwestern track in the north part of the city when the fatal accident occurred. His body was badly mutilated and he died instantly.
