The county board authorized an additional $125,600 in short-term funding bonds bearing 6 percent interest to take up outstanding warrants. This brings 1920 total bond issues to $430,000. The previous issue sold last summer and ads for sale will follow printing and legal work.
Twenty men joined Co. M, Iowa National Guard, at the armory last night as consolidation with Co. B aims to raise the unit to 110 men. With 30 more names, the consolidated company will be split into two infantry and machine gun units within the First Battalion, Fourth Regiment, Thirty Fourth Division of federalized troops. Officials expect few issues assembling the quota and anticipate most joins.
