Champ Clark Seeks One Six-Year Presidential Term

Washington, Jan 7. Champ Clark of Missouri proposes radical constitutional changes to elect the president for a single six year term and make reelection forever impossible. He would set congressmen at three year terms and align national elections for the last Monday in August with inaugurations the first Monday in October. He argues ending the two term unwritten rule prevents third term pushers and could avoid dangerous precedent. The plan has sparked interest among public men.
