Rare Birds Weave Wonders At Audubon Park Exhibit
At Audubon Park in New Orleans a crowd watched 200 skilled weaver birds demonstrate their nest building with raffia. The birds produce varied knot patterns and nests, drawing daily crowds as they work from afternoon until dusk, while zoo officials explain their unique weaving in detail. The birds, native to Transvaal and lake regions of Africa, belong to a broader African and Asian bird group.
