Mail Orders Swell Automobile License Plate Business
Ninety three automobile licenses were issued yesterday by W F Jeffrey head of the motor vehicle license department in the county treasurer's office. Most of these orders came in by mail. Twenty two trucks were licensed yesterday all of the applications being received thru the mail. P A Doolittle representing the state department had issued 20 chauffeurs licenses up to this morning. He estimates there are about 100 drivers in this county who should receive these permits. Doolittle will be in the county treasurer's office today and probably most of tomorrow. This personal service is for the accommodation of the public and to save applicants delay and extra cost. Doolittle stated where applications are sent to the department at Des Moines there may be delay and some cost. It is the desire of Ed M Smith secretary of state to save chauffeurs all the cost possible.
