B L Barthe newly elected adjutant of Becker Chapman post American Legion has hung a sign reading At your service in Memorial hall basement. He plans an employment records department to link veterans with jobs and to track needed experience and pay. He aims to recruit about 3 000 eligible county men, of whom only 500 are members, and will use a job clearinghouse approach to serve the legion before individuals. The post may form a women auxiliary and later a mothers sisters wives and daughters group if welcomed by national HQ.

Fireman Killed In Wreck Near Dalton After Train Ditching
A passenger train on the Chicago and Eastern Illinois line was ditched south of Dalton. One man, G Gilly, the firesman, was killed and another injured. no passengers were hurt. The incident occurred after a year ending in activity overseas with the American forces in Italy. The victim had lived in Waterloo for 15 years.
