Dubuque Spent Million On Building In 1911
Dubuque Iowa ended 1911 with over one and a half million dollars in building improvements. Despite ten months of labor dispute, the city saw many residences from 1000 to 3500 dollars, the Brunswick Balke Collendar Co factory costing about 500000, and Mercy Hospital Home for the Aged valued around 200000. The surge suggests population growth and a shift toward housing working families.
