CANDIDATES NOT CLAMORING AFTER MUNICIPAL JOBS
After a week of nominations for the March 29 city election, no candidates for City Clerk or any ticket have been placed on the slate. Filing closes March 12, with a three day extension added to the nominating interval. Registration days are March 18, 19, and the weekend before election. Judges and clerks will be named soon, with 24 precincts needing three judges and two clerks each. Local figures Glenn Tibbitts and others are rumored, while Francis and Rector deny or dodge definitive candidacy and plans center on an economy platform.
