Voting urged on all Legioners in Iowa politics
Des Moines reports the American Legion plans closer political oversight across Iowa. State secretary John MacVicar urges posts to exercise full citizen duties, form block organizations with committees to monitor political activity, and pressure issues to safeguard the community. He notes the Legion is nonpolitical by constitution but supports active voter participation and the idea of ex service men forming a conference to engage in governance. Also mentions a young veteran’s claim of 4,000,000 returning servicemen aiming to influence government.
