Father searches for son and Knights of Columbus event in Des Moines
A 78 year old Waterloo visitor, A. N. Billy of Clear Lake, seeks his son in Black Hawk County after three years apart. He recalls Civil War service and a 26 dollar monthly pension while en route from Los Angeles to his Iowa home. In Des Moines, a class of 230 Knights of Columbus received the fourth degree, described as the most successful initiation in Iowa, with Davenports and Des Moines leaders assisting. A separate probe by G A Waeth into county board actions yields no graft found, and bridge-estimate efforts continue as officials seek bids.
