Farmers' dollar buys more this season than last
Lincoln Nebraska February 22 The farmer's dollar will buy a little more this year than it did in 1926 says Gilbert Gusler writing in the Nebraska Farmer Gusler adds that farmers may not spend as many dollars as last year as wholesale prices trend downward this year Costs of farm machinery including tractors should be about the same as 1926 with lower retail prices if dealers cut margins There are hopes of slightly lower binder twine prices The market for sisal fiber has been weak allowing lower costs for twine manufacturers Field fencing and fertilizer prices stay near last year Feeding and breeding cattle milk cows horses and mules will cost more this year due to higher feed costs after a short 1926 crop
