Save $10,000 by Leaving Electors Off Primary Ballots
Des Moines reports that the state could save $10,000 per primary if an amendment sponsored by Senator Banta is adopted. The plan would strike presidential electors from primary ballots and have state conventions name them. Printing costs drive the potential savings, and supporters argue names need not appear on primaries as they do not on general tickets.
