Iowa conservation advocates push six member game commission plan
Hes Moines Feb 19 Conservation leaders push a bill creating a six member state game commission to run fish and wildlife. The panel would appoint a game warden, set seasons, operate hatcheries, regulate revenues and oversee about 4400000 annually in conservation funds. Governor Hammill opposes the plan though some lawmakers seek to funnel most revenues to the department.
