A man driving an automobile plummeted down a river bank and was arrested. Authorities described the driver as intoxicated and taken into custody after the incident. Further details on location and charges were not immediately released.
George Shannon of KR. F. D. No. 6 was stopped by police on the Cedar river banks at Fifteenth Street West and jailed on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after being taken to the city jail last evening.
Police stated a driver veered down a steep bank at the head of Fifteenth Street toward the river. Slumped behind the wheel he studied the raging torrent in a scene described by witnesses.
