Government urges steady acreage for 1925 potato crop
The United States Department of Agriculture urges no further reduction in potato acreage for 1925. A larger than 1924 yield is likely profitable, while sweet potato production should not rise dramatically. Tobacco acreage should stay limited and sugar carryover may keep prices steady. If California and other states match 1924 acreage, a surplus of about 2,000,000 bushels could occur.
