Gasoline tax plan eyed by Iowa municipalities
The League of Iowa Municipalities pushes a 2 cent per gallon gasoline tax with revenue shared to counties cities and towns. Mayor A Gnagy says distribution mirrors California law and Distrs funds monthly via the state treasurer. Waterlooo council may act next week. committee also backs raises for city council members based on population.

First Coffinmaker in Northwest Iowa Dies at Webster City
J. B. Sketchley, 90, longtime Webster City undertaker and coffin maker, died yesterday. He arrived in 1867 and was the county’s last member of the northern border brigade. He built the pioneer town’s furniture, devised the first fanning mill, and donated a 12 acre memorial park. He married twice and left no direct heirs.

Scout camp prize plan and session dates announced
The first scouts to solve the puzzle will be given credit for $2 on nis 1926 camp fee, and the next four will each receive $1 credit. Plans for this year's camp were announced in the Scout Summons. There will be four seven day periods a start of June 22, June 29, July 6 and July 13, and a five day period commencing July 20. Not more than 64 boys will be permitted to enroll for one period.
