Jail sentence for liquor transport case

Oscar Hardin of La Porte City pleaded guilty to illegal transportation of intoxicating liquor. Before Judge H B Boles he received 26 days in jail and costs after an arrest on January 28. Hardin declined legal counsel. Clark’s case pending district court transcript.

A five member jury in Judge H. B. Boies's division awarded Frank Kurtz $621.43 against Thomas Barker after a two hour deliberation. The case centered on disputed horse stable charges and the trial consumed three days of accounting and testimony.

Des Moines Feb 4 Gov Hammill said he would not campaign for the proposed ten million paving bond issue after calling a special Iowa legislature session.
