Mrs Mary Ward 86 Dies at Vinton in Family Home
Mrs Mary Ward aged 86 died at the home of her daughter Mrs John Hanna in Vinton on Thursday of this week. Born Mary Hayes in Ohio June 30 1882 she married Rampel Ward in 1854 and came to Benton county in 1867 settling on a Big Grove farm. She moved to Vinton in 1881 and lived there since. Funeral services were conducted by Rev B Culley at J W Hanna’s home. She had been a Presbyterian member for years and spent winters in California with her children. She and Rampel had seven children, two died in infancy and a son F M died in February 1914. Mr Ward died October 1897.
