Cedar Rapids Commercial club hosted landowners to discuss a Cedar Rapids to Waterloo interurban line passing through Independence, Vinton, Jubilee, Gilbertville, Urbana, Brandon, Shady Grove and other communities. Enthusiasm ran high despite Iowa laws hindering such projects, with calls to repeal Peterson statutes and update tax rules. A formal committee was named to push legislation, and a Waterloo meeting for further support was planned.
