Des Moines reports district committee chairs of the Iowa Lowden for President club urged the Republican state central committee to call an early Iowa convention to select delegates for the national convention in Kansas City. Assault to kill sister charged against J Ashe

John Ashe a 58 year old Waterloo lodgeman was charged with assault with intent to commit murder after allegedly threatening his sister Mrs H T Howland with a carving knife to force her to sign a deed in his favor. The case stems from a long property dispute involving land on Logan avenue and two farms in Eagle township and Winnebago county with Judge G W Wood having ruled in favor of Mrs Howland.
