Johnson elected to Chicago Federal Reserve board third term

Elbert L. Johnson, president of Leavitt & Johnson Trust Co., is re elected as director of the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago for the third time after six years on the board. He won 311 of 321 ballots. Also elected were Albert Erskine of Studebaker and James Simpson of Marshall Field to represent business and the public respectively.

In Benton Wisconsin on December 30 a touring car carrying bonded liquor bound for Dubuque and other towns was robbed during a breakdown. Thieves halted the driver with revolver fire, seized about three thousand dollars worth of bottled goods, and escaped as the driver fled and later found the car empty but the crew gone.
