Former Husband Alleges Nullity of Waterloo Marriage
A 17-year-old man Arnold Pyle seeks annulment in Black Hawk county courts claiming he was duped into marrying Mrs. Arlie Jordan-Jacklin on August 30 1910 after a Des Moines Des Moines trip with John T. Jacklin. He learned she had prior marriage under a similar ruse and seeks nullification since the first union was illegal and could not be remade within a year. The piece compares this with Annie Jordan and John T. Jacklin's similar entanglement and another divorce case involving cruelty and alcohol. The notices also mention Mrs A G Curtiss suing Charles E Cotter over hidden encumbrances on Waterloo property and a jewelry ad.
