Butter Board Regulars Win Elgin Election
An alliance of Chicago and Wisconsin butter men backing the manufacturers ticket was defeated 270 to 39 in the annual Butter Board election at Elgin. Charges of a $1000 price to retain control sparked fighting between rival factions led by B S Pearsall, T T Gallagher, and C Creditore against C S Kilbourne and Joseph Newman. The regulars gained when a key vote rejected increasing directors and moved president and secretary elections from the board to the floor.
