Jobbers Fight Parcels Post Opposition Grows in Plains States
Nebraska and Iowa jobbers unite with merchants and the American Mercantile Association to oppose the parcel post bill. They circulate 100000 protest letters to Nebraska and Iowa senators and congressmen, arguing it fosters monopolies, harms rural towns, and benefits big mail order houses. The group cites increased deficits and erosion of suburban trade as key objections. Also listed are engagements of local notables and upcoming weddings.
