Controversy over Three-I league in Rock Island
Rock Island fans dispute claims that the Three-I league seeks to run the city’s baseball. Local press doubts a Rock Island team can be funded and notes Tearney’s past statements.
Grinnell Fans Not Worrying About League Break
Grinnell fans say Missouri Valley moves to enforce eligibility rules could push Valley teams off Iowa Conference schedules. Grinnell plans strong schedules without Ames or Drake, with basketball rivals like Wisconsin and Northwestern on tap. If a break occurs, Drake would suffer most, while Ames and Iowa would remain able to compete in this state. A state meet might be affected with only Iowa, Drake, and Ames eligible.
